::ABOUT THE FACILITATOR::

Isaac grew up in Nyack, NY, where he was exposed to a holistic lifestyle early on. He teaches classes all around Brooklyn and elsewhere throughout the year. He enjoys teaching any style, but his particular interests and focus are in Power/Ashtanga, Dynamic Vinyasa, Yin, and Traditional Hot Yoga. He finds significance in incorporating various forms and theories of Movement, while making a priority of strong and safe Alignment.

He discovered the positive, profound impact Yoga had on him from first time he stepped on a mat years ago. He discovered with consistent practice, Yoga laid a positive and strong foundation that can change the rest of one's life. He has found the practice to be holistically medicinal and therapeutic. His practice has been liberating, while enabling him to develop a strong sense of discipline. It continues to open him to the world, and expand his ability to harness and utilize spiritual, physical and mental strength and fortitude. The practice of Yoga simultaneously improves one from the outside in and the inside out, and leads to a more general equanimity. And, it's a lot of fun! It has led him to finding Truth, Acceptance and Bliss in the Infinite.

Isaac completed his 200 HR Yoga Teacher Training at Pranavah Yoga (RYS), his 300 HR YTT with Science of Self YTT and Yoga to the People (RYS), and his 18 HR Yin YTT with Corina Benner at the Integral Yoga Institute (RYS). He is inspired and humbled to share this awesome, ancient union between breath and movement with others. He received his Reiki Attunement with Reiki Master Lisa Levine at Maha Rose, in Brooklyn, NY and his Intuitive Thai Therapy Certifications with Sarah Seely at Maha Rose. He studies Acupressure with his mentor Rose Erin Vaughan. He is incredibly grateful and honored to share these healing modalities and enhance connection and awareness through them.

High on Yoga - Día de Muertos

led by Domenica Garcia

Día de Muertos is a Mexican holiday that honors and celebrates death. On November 1 & 2, the dead travel from the underworld to visit their loved ones. Mortals receive the spirits with an altar or “Ofrenda”. These contain traditional food, Cempasúchil flowers, sugar skulls and bright candles to light the spirits’s way.

Join us for a Yin Yang practice to commemorate the dead. We’ll warm up the body with Yin Yoga, then transition to a dynamic flow, and end our journey with a long restorative Savasana. This Día de Muertos inspired practice will be  a complete journey – from life, death to rebirth.

Asana led by Doménica García and live music by Benny Oyama.

Stay around after class to chat, dance and share snacks. Feel free to bring anything to share.

About:
Doménica García is a certified yoga instructor and movement based artist originally from Mexico City. She utilizes a deep asana practice to gradually develop self awareness. She encourage students to explore comfortable and challenging places, expanding our definitions of love and compassion.

Benny Oyama’s intimate original music evolves from deep, meditative dives, only to reemerge with jewels in his hands.

His unique blend of Folk, Bossa Nova, Jazz and rock-inflected music emerges from being present to what is presented in his experience - surprising cultural pathways, the wonders of nature, the trauma of the past, and the complexity of meeting the world with mixed identities - all infused with rich melodies, harmony and rhythm.

Benny is a singer, guitarist, bandleader, multi-instrumentalist and troubadour from New York City and based in the vibrant Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Friday Night High on Hridaya Hatha - Benefit for Integral Heart Family

With Luke Maguire Armstrong

Yoga, as it is given at Hridaya Yoga involves not only the physical body, but our whole being in practice.

Hridaya Yoga combines physical asanas with Advaita Vedanta, a non-dual look to Yoga. The Asanas are approached with a meditative attitude, as recommended in the traditional texts of Kashmir Shaivism. The practice is aimed at a more intimate understanding of the physical body and the essence of our being.

It is aimed to purify not only the physical and energetic body, but also to create a consciousness of the physical body and the more subtle bodies. An awareness of Awareness itself, whereby the practice becomes a meditation.

The class is suitable for both beginners and advanced students.

Friday Night High on Five Elements Cacao & Yin

Led by Lavender Malin & Luisa Ancona

We will begin with an intention setting cacao ceremony led by Lavender, honoring the five elements and opening our hearts to listen and receive our shared practice. We will then move into a brief meditation and breathwork, which will prepare us for turning inwards. We will follow with a Yin practice led by Luisa, grounding into our bodies through longer held supported shapes that will stimulate chakras and its elements, allowing a deeper connection with our bodies, breath and mind. We finish practice with a long savasana and a final checkout, leaving with a stronger sense of grounding and openness to ourselves and to others.

About cacao:
Cacao is a magical plant. Long before it was ever made into chocolate, the cacao bean has been drunk by many indigenous communities in ceremony, for elevating into the spirit realm, and for mental and physical healing. Raw, unprocessed cacao, when it is received straight from the source and has been authentically grown, contains an alkaloid called Theobromine, which acts as a natural serotonin booster in the brain, gets our blood flow moving, opens up the channels of our heart, and helps us engage with higher vibration. It truly is the nectar of the gods.

Friday Night High on Seasonal Yoga

Friday Night High On Seasonal Yoga
.
This Friday we will begin exploring this short period of time approaching that falls between Summer and Fall. A very transitional time in the world around us, but also in our bodies.
.
In the Five Element Theory, there are five seasons whose nature is related to the five elements. Late summer is linked to the Element of Earth. In Chinese medicine, the direction the element Earth is associated is CENTER. "We are all around it and it surrounds us."
.
The stomach, spleen and pancreas are the organs associated with this transitional metamorphic time. In class we will concentrate on activating these areas. We will also work on centering the body and mind, calming and grounding ourselves through meditation and breath-work.
