WARM HUMANS: A Revolution and Homecoming Through Returning to Our Senses
.
Exploring and unearthing the world within through honoring and ENJOYING the body, and its relationship to space, contact, and sensation, as literally being phenomena of Nature.
.
In our practice together, we will warm up with moving meditation, beginning to tune into our expansive internal realms as we awaken our bodies and cultivate a language between our mental, emotional, psychological, and spiritual spheres in relation to our physical forms, in order to find a more fluid holistic body.

As we delve into our exploration, we will use prompted exercises, guided improvisation, and both personal and collective investigations to deepen our experiences of space and sensation, and invite pleasure and new possibilities into our methods of moving. A pillar of our practice is the understanding that when we feel our best and safest, by way of providing ourselves with nourishment and pleasure, we find our most fertile grounds for experimentation, creation, and transformation.

We will work with techniques gleaned from Authentic Movement, Butoh, the multi-disciplinary practice of TALK/TOUCH/MOVE/WRITE, and vocal toning in order to co-create the richest, most illuminating experience possible. Through this work we begin to develop an appreciation and curiosity for the exquisitely boundless world that is revealed by experiencing ourselves and our bodies this way..

About Susannah:
Susannah’s practice is strongly informed by her background in dance and experimental movement, as well as years of practice in hatha and vinyasa yoga, and a love of guided meditation. Through movement, both based on asana and creative improvisation, as well as pranayama (manifesting stillness, bliss, and openness by way of breathwork), and meditation she strives to guide yogis in clearing out the gunk that builds up in our minds, hearts, and bodies during the hubbub of daily life, shaking off the oppressive binds of past trauma, societal shame, and negative experiences that we have internalized, and freeing ourselves in order to give and receive love openly and freely.
