with our beautiful queer bodies we try to float
but maybe our strings are too long
because many of us seem to feel pulled down
tethered to the structures that were created to keep us from floating
we are beautiful
in all of our colors and shapes
we are here - a queer family
and we can create a space together
to flow and float
to cut the strings that ground us
