You're invited to Laughter Yoga, part of the High on Yoga series offered at Daya Yoga in Ridgewood. Laughter Yoga was created by Indian physician Dr. Madan Kataria after studying the many benefits that laughter has on the body, mind, and spirit. Laughter Yoga includes laughter exercises combined with pranayama (breathing techniques) that brings more oxygen to our body and brain, making us feel more energetic and healthy. These practices are proven to reduce stress, strengthen your immune system and bring positivity + joy into your life. This is a time to expand your relationship with laughter, make connections with your community, and start the weekend with pure joy and silliness. You don't need any "reason" to laugh other than it feels good! Join us on Friday, January 9th at 8:30 pm at the Ridgewood Daya location.

This class is led by Tessa Rae Butler Duran, who has been hosting events + workshops for over 9 years that focus on bringing joy into your life, community, learning, movement and more. Tessa also hosts monthly Community Gatherings at Daya in Bushwick, plus her passion project, Playful Movement, that focuses on connecting with your inner child, tapping into playfulness, letting go of judgement, and getting your body moving. She's held workshops at festivals like Electric Forest, Big Dub, Sacred Nectar Sanctuary, Evolutions Festival and more. Tessa is also an A&R at Kobalt Music Publishing for her day job, which reflects her passions for music and connecting people + building community.
