The Yoga of Writing a Book (or any other project) Hosted by Liza Leonard
Sunday, August 3rd 3pm
Daya ridgewood 1019 Seneca ave
free or by donation and open to all
In this workshop we will talk about:
-how to set a goal and a deadline
-How to create discipline around creative work
-how to keep going through the hard moments and the challenges, and actually enjoy them. (this becomes the best part.)
-how to start a project
-how to finish a project
This workshop is for you if you have a hundred ideas of creative projects you want to do, and haven’t started them yet. or this workshop is for you if you do start the projects, but cant quite finish them. that used to be me. (and still is sometimes.) i get it.
Starting is so exciting and full of energy. then the first roadblock comes. if you make it through the first roadblock, you still have to make it through the second and third. In the past year, I have been learning about how to expect the challenges and show up to them with playfulness and fun rather than avoiding them or quitting all together. We can use the sacred symbol, the ennegram, to map out our projects and anticipate when the hardest parts will be. (hint, the last 10% are the hardest.)
I am really excited to share my creative inspiration and journey through creating my first book, Luminous Blue. The process itself is part of the joy that I have gotten out of it so far. And launching it into the world is just as important as sitting down to write the chapters. This workshop is an expression of what I have learned. I hope to share these clues with others that are in the process of creating something!
